Prison Wine 20th Anniversary 😯

The year was 2006. We were at war in the Middle East and the economy was on the brink of collapse. Sound familiar? The band had been together for a year and put out 2* demos (Burmont Bill has a posse, DIVORCE) and we were getting tighter and slightly better at recording our selves. I remember this time fondly. We hung out and experimented with different instruments and sounds and listened to a ton of music. We recorded most of the record and then scrapped it and started again. The end result was Prison Wine, a real deal album.

As we approach the 20th (!?) anniversary of the album release I thought it would be fun to revisit these songs, so we’re inviting The Sparklers and Quarry and we’re going to play the record in full. Glockenspiel and all.

Saturday June 20th at The Mill at Rockdale Tickets here

I think it’s important to commemorate art you make with your friends. We keep doing this out of sheer brotherhood and camaraderie. We hope to see you there.

*3 if you count Glitter and Fleas (a few songs we recorded in the front room of the house while the Dirtman’s grandma had her birthday party)

Struck Out Lookin’ out now

We have a new song out. We recorded it with Fred Mascherino (Taking Back Sunday/The Color Fred) and our old pals Bob and Dan McGlinchey. We also had Chris  Sheehan from one of our all time favorite bands Johnny Action Figure play piano and sing on it.

It was fun to do this. We just recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of our first show, which is very strange because we only ever planned to do that one show. But then we kept getting asked to do shows and kept going. And then little opportunities came up.

It’s still like that now. We get asked to do something, if everyone can do it we do it. Sometimes we get paid and then we put that money into recording a song. It’s how we ran our band when we were teenagers and I guess we never changed.

Some people might disagree but I think we have a sound. And that sound comes from the chemistry we have together and when we were recording this it felt like no time had passed.

If you listen to this and like it, please share it with someone.

Spring/Summer ‘25 update

Hey y’all,

We don’t update this as much as we should. We are more active on Instagram follow us @the.tressels for more frequent updates.

We recorded 2 new songs, our first new material in 10 years. It’s very exciting and it felt like no time had passed. Looking like a mid-summer release.

We have 2 upcoming shows with our pals Die Tired

Saturday, May 17th at The Watertower in Oaks, PA & Friday, July 11th at The Rusty Nail in Bryn Mawr, PA

The last time we played the Rusty Nail the woman before us sang an acappella version of Sarah Mcglaughlin’s in the arms of the angels and broke down crying. Fun times.

Finally, we did a session we the awesome crew at Cart Studio in West Philly. It turned out great and I really like the songs we chose. We’ve been having so much fun with this 3 guitar lineup of the band I think this is a great showcase of our power and fortitude.

Thanks for hanging with us through these many years ✌️❤️ Butch

The Tressels will Reunite for FUCK YOU 2016 X-MAS SPECTACULAR @ The Trophy Tavern 12.23.16.

Well, what a year it's been.

We lost David Bowie, Prince, Guy Clark, Leonard Cohen and countless others.
and we gained...

There's no better time for those blue collar warrior poets known as The Tressels to reunite for one night only and to spread some goddamn Christmas cheer to the pre-apocalyptic wasteland known as DELCO!

Won't you join us?

The Mary Veils open, Tressels follow, and we will join forces to close the show with some drunken 90's alt covers that will no doubt distract us from our impending doom.

The Tressels Say Goodbye

"Wolves," and the final moments of the final Tressel Show

GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD

With a heavy heart and utmost humility, we announce our show at The Trophy Tavern on 12/27/14 will be our final show as The Tressels.

We are incredibly lucky to have had the support of our friends, family and fans over the years, especially those who donated to our recent indiegogo campaign (Don't worry, you are all still getting your vinyl!)

If you ever came to a show or bought a record we cannot thank you enough, we were able to sustain ourselves for an entire decade and that in itself is incredible considering we only ever planned to play one show.

When we started "The American Trilogy" in 2011 with American Sunset, we knew it would be an ambitious project. It also happened to coincide with the most difficult personal years of our lives thus far. Now that we've lived through it and completed the story with Bury Me American we all feel that it's the right time to hang it up.

We've outlasted friendships, venues, trends, and rival bands. We were authentic, we acted impulsive and reckless and made some great rock & roll. We did things on our own terms, and for that we are truly proud.

Come join us on 12/27 for one final night of non stop rock, whiskey and tales of woe.

Be there or get body slammed.

The Tressels On Y102 HOMEBREWED

Thanks to our old friend Frank Phobia for featuring our song "Troubled" on his Y102-FM Homebrewed show!

He's booked us up and down PA since 2005, and Mr. Phobia is definitely one of the good guys.

He called our new record brilliant too!

You can listen to it HERE

The Tressels YourLocalNote.com Vidcast

We made our third trip to Your Local Note (A marvelous site dedicated to local music) to talk all things BURY ME AMERICAN.

As usual it was overly revealing, a little embarrassing, and wildly entertaining.

We play a stripped down version of "Past Me" too!
